I’ve had a lot of interesting exchanges with prospects over the years and but recently I had an update to a two year saga that I thought was just too good NOT to share. I hope you enjoy following the exchange as much as I had being a part of it. It’s important to follow this from top (oldest) to bottom (newest) and don’t skip my commentary because it fills in some gaps for which I don’t have screenshots for…
My initial contact with this prospect got started over the phone and after he baited me with some initial interest he tried to play the “you join mine I’ll join yours” game and thus wanted me to sign up in his gold/silver mlm deal which he was a part of at the time. I respectfully declined letting him know I don’t play that way. That initial conversation was sometime in 2011. He then called me up trying to pitch me on a total scam mlm called Zeek (which was shut down) sometime in early 2012. What follows are the email exchanges I’ve had with this prospect since that time. You may notice the exchanges are usually initiated with him responding to the drip/prospecting emails I periodically send out to my pipeline of Ambit Energy prospects…
At this point he has already pitched me directly on two different deals (one of which… Zeek Rewards, I knew for a fact was a total scam) and yet the only real legit mlm deal he talks about being a part of… Nerium, he only mentions in passing as if to bring credibility to the other stuff he is a part of. He has also taunted me with the NAP comment not having any clue that I know more about NAP than most everybody in NAP and could run circles around him on the topic. After this exchange I totally put him in the “I won’t sponsor you into Ambit Energy if you begged me to” category which is why the following email exchanges I violate my own rule of never burning a bridge with anybody. Truth is there are some people that are like cancer to your business and this is one of them. I’m only continuing to drip on him with group prospecting emails for the sheer entertainment of it…
We’re now on deal number 3 that he has pitched me on… the fun continues!
Now we’re on deal number 4, this guy is the epitome of commitment!
So there you have it, over the course of about 2 years this one person pitched me on 4 different mlm deals. This guy is a professional mlm junkie and likely makes a lot of money doing it. Why does it continue to work? Because the emotional excitement of the “new deal” and “grass is greener” and the “quick money” mentality are just too enticing for many people not to get sucked into.
Don’t let it happen to you!

P.S. I should note that I debated for a while if I should post this or not because I can’t say I’m 100% proud of how I always responded in the email exchange but at the end of the day I thought the lesson was worth sharing…. hope you enjoyed!
